wk1 day five activity one towering timbers
in my opinion i believe logging should be illegal but only if it is for good or put to good use the reason i say it should be illegal because we need to keep our beautiful tree's safe here in new Zealand we may be smaller than Australia but others in new Zealand have big hearts for tree's like me i love tree's as you should know because i can resist climbing a tree and tree's is what keeps us alive so yeah this is my opinion
Hi Milika,
ReplyDeleteIt's Leslie, a member of the Summer Learning Journey reading your blog from my home in wintry Canada. We are a country, like yours, that is covered with forest, or at one time it was. We have very very big cities now where beautiful stands of trees once stood. And we have farming and mining businesses that have also resulted in forests being cut down.
Like you, I would like to see forestry limited. That means that I would like to see fewer trees being cut down, especially if the reason for taking them down is the creation of new mining or manufacturing or housing development.
We use wood as the primary material for building our homes so there will probably always be a need to cut some trees, won't there? But I think we are too quick to clear areas without thinking of the beauty and the life that we're losing.
I'm glad that you have a big heart for trees! And I'm glad that you enjoy climbing trees - very fun!! I've always loved climbing trees too and spent a lot of my childhood hanging upside down off of tree branches. What is your favourite type of tree? Mine is the cedar tree because it has a lovely shape and it smells beautiful too.
I hope you're enjoying lots of fun time outside this summer, as well as enjoying these Summer Learning Journey activities!! I'll keep on reading your blog.
