Awesome work on completing another Summer Learning Journey activity, 'Scaling New Heights'. Sir Edmund Hillary is such a legend. I am so proud of him for putting New Zealand on the map back in 1953 for being one of the first to climb Mount Everest. I think he must have had an interesting upbringing to have the motivation and bravery to conquer that incredible journey. I would also like to know what he would be doing now if he were still alive. However, he would be 98 if he were still alive so he probably wouldn't be doing too much. You may find that you could find an answer on the internet of what he did in the years after his expedition as he lived a long and healthy life.
You have done really well in asking three question but the activity actually asks you to answer 5. Can you give me 2 more questions to further your inquiry. What could you find out about his expedition that you couldn't find on the internet?
I would like to know what challenges he faced while climbing Mt Everest. What about you?
