  2. Kia ora Milika,

I hope you enjoyed your last day of school today. It sounds as though you have been busy, working on all 5 days of the Summer Learning Journey activities. I am very excited to your slides with all the work you have done. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to see any slides attached to your post. Could you please check that you have included your slides correctly. If there is something wrong, I would be happy to help you through this.

    My email is akohikoslj@gmail.com.

Good luck for the rest of your Summer Learning Journey.

    Kindest regards,
    Megan :)

  4. Olá Milika,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you have been enjoying this holiday period and have had some happy moments with your whanau. I was lucky enough to get away with my son and spend some quality time with him and my immediate family. We spent a lot of time at the beach enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Have you been to the beach this summer?

You have put an incredible slide together with all 15 activities from week 1. This is such a great idea, creating a slide, however, I am not sure how to comment on every activity. Can I make a suggestion - it would be really cool if you could make a slide for a day’s worth of activities instead of the full week. This means the Summer Learning Journey team can comment on more of your work. How does this sound?

I am going to leave a separate comment for 2of my favourite activities you completed.

    Adeus,
    Megan :)

    Malo e lelei Milika,

I really enjoyed reading the space poem you created for W1D2A2. This is a creative piece that you have created with a distinctive rhythm. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and found it fascinating how you managed to include the line from twinkle twinkle little star at the end. Did you have any inspiration when you were creating this poem?

Another activity that I utterly enjoyed was your 3 superpowers for W1D3A1. When I was reading your super powers I could tell that you are a kind and loving person as all of your powers talk about helping people. My favourite power was the time freeze so that you could take a break from helping people and have a cup of coffee. Self-care is so important to recharge and make sure you look after yourself and your mental wellbeing. I am a sucker for a good book so my self-care includes reading novels and going to the beach. What do you like doing to recharge?

Keep up the incredible work, Milika. I am looking forward to reading more of your work.

    Nofo a,
    Megan :)

  6. Kia Ora Milika,
I am Kueni and I’m working as a blog commenter on the Summer Learning Journey this summer working with the Ako Hiko cluster. Have you done the Summer Learning Journey before? I’m looking forward to reading your posts and the other bloggers' posts from the Ako Hiko cluster, over the next few weeks!

I really enjoyed reading through your slide of all 15 activities from week one you have done an amazing job at completing each and every one of these activities ka pai!

An activity I really liked was W2D3A3. The achieving dreams activity. I like that you chose to be a director and that you have put a lot of thought into what things or people you will need to help you to achieve that dream. How did you decide that you would want to be a director?

Another activity that I really enjoyed reading was W1D5A1. I really like this activity because you get to write about things/people that are important to you or are “national treasures”. It is really awesome to see that you have your friends/family right at the top of your list. I would put them at the top of mine too! What are some of your favourite things to do with your friends and family?

I look forward to reading more of your blog posts over the summer,
    Ka kite,
    Kueni :)

  7. Kia ora Milika,

Wow this slideshow is impressive! I can see how much thought and effort you have put into these activities.

Firstly, thank you for posting about the SPCA, they do some amazing work don’t they!? I enjoyed reading your post, especially the part about the donations! It made my heart so happy to think that New Zealanders are putting money towards helping the SPCA with their important work.

Have you got any pets? If you were to volunteer for another charity, what would it be and why?

Secondly, ka pai on making a post for week one, day three, activity two! The questions you would ask Steven Adams are thoughtful, especially the one about how it feels to be famous. I think you would get some really interesting information from asking those questions.

Do you play basketball or any other sports? I like to run, box, dance, and play netball :)

Have a groovy day and keep up the awesome work!
    Eliza :)

That’s fair enough, I like spending time chilling inside too especially when it’s bad weather outside. What is your favourite thing to do inside?

Have a great day and keep up the awesome work!

    1. Kia ora Milika,

What a great way to recharge. I made pancakes with my son, Nico on the weekend. This is something we like to do to recharge as well. We have quality time making a mess and getting creative with what toppings we have on our pancakes. My favourite toppings are maple syrup with banana and strawberries. Do you have favourite toppings?

      Kindest regards,
      Megan :)
